LJ just sent me an email asking me how I'm enjoying my free upgrade. Well LJ.....I'd have to say "pretty good".

Of course this is the first post since the upgrade and the only bonus I can see is the kazillion userpics that I forgot I had, so I'm seriously thinking of upgrading. Hunh.

Soccer season starts today! Looking forward to playing again, but not really looking forward to today's game - due to holidays, weddings, and functions we only have 8 players available (normally there are 11 on the field). So this afternoon I'm either going to be limping around or really really happy!

*WARNING! Misery post full of whinging ahead*

You know when you have one of those weeks where you're convinced that all the bad karma you've been staving off finally catches up with you? Yeah, I'm in the middle of one (and it's only bloody Wednesday).

To start off with on Sunday I lost my license (as in misplaced) - I put it in my pocket when we went out for a walk and somewhere between buying a drink and arriving home it fell out of my pocket. I haven't gotten a new one yet 'cause I'm living in the hope that someone finds it and posts it to the address that is RIGHT THERE on the front of it.

Monday - it *poured* and I got soaked on the way to work so spent the day with freezing with cold feet (<--- the worst!).
Tuesday - I find out the small brake problem in my car is going to cost me $600.
Wendsday - my ear is inflamed from the mould of new hearing aid I've been wearing so I have the day off work, before getting my old faithful one out. Which just now (and here's the straw) broke.

Like snapped in half. It's 11pm and I'm sitting here bawling because I feel like a part of me is missing, which really it is, and I don't know if I can get it back. I'm trying to calm down and logically think why this is such a bad thing considering that I have a new one, but it's not the same and I don't know how to describe it. I just got done trialing another hearing aid for a month which I hated (widex) and I told the guy to order me the same one that I had (siemens) which he did and lo! The sound is great, if only he would set it to the sounds that the old one is set to. But the dude just won't frakking listen - it's like he's trying to prove that there are fast, better, stronger models out there - but I just want my old faithful. It worked for me, but now it's dead :(

Gah. I'm sure it can be fixed (fingers crossed) and first thing in the morning I'll take it to the hearing aid repair place and tell them to spare no expense (FFS my bloody brakes just cost $600 and how often do I use them!).

Gah, I possibly should have set myself deadlines....or time limit, or something to make me post. I guess it comes down to why I want to post - lately I've been feeling a bit cagey, a bit flat, and a bit.......wee, boring. I'm starting to go places at work, but need the sounding board and advice of close friends, or just people in general. What's the old saying? If your dumb, surround yourself with smart people. If you're smart, surround yourself with smart people that disagree with you.

I'm thinking that if i can post and interact with people it might open up angles and viewpoints that didn't occur to me, but how can that happen if I don't post! So, I shall try to post at least once a week - let's say Wednesday. That doesn't mean I can't post more, it just means that once a week, I need to set half an hour aside and let my fingers do the talking for a bit.

I joined Virgin Active in Sydney, partly to get fit(ter) but mainly because I love Richard Branson (I think it's the hair) I tried a few classes, for I am a team player and individual pursuits just don't do it for me (I get bored).

The first class I tried was hip hop - never in my life have I felt so white! And I went to Harlem once! While fun and strenuous I only went to the one class - see above: individual pursuits.

Next I tried spin whith my friend Evil Chloe - I lasted two classes there.

After every class I swam a few clicks in the indoor pool and sat in the sauna *breathing* for a bit so I didn't cancel the membership as all was not lost.

Also their bathrooms have super hairdryers and GHD's.

So then Christmas/ new year came and me and mr. Branson had a break, and somehow one drunken stubble home I twisted my ankle so if there was any exercise to be had it had to be low resistance. Which is how I met Sven.

Sven is the little man that lives in the pain bike. You just plug your headphones into the monitor attached to the handlebars, fill in your measurements, what program you want to do, and Sven talks you through the whole thing. He seems a bit in love with himself but I think he's just really sensitive. He talks me through my paces in a calming positive manner, tells me when to hydrate, and calls me "babe" when the going gets tough! Seriously, Sven-in-my-bike is a total flirt!!

Writing this on my iPhone for LJ ap on the bus and it's so easy - the toolbar makes total sense and the shortcuts are logical - I might never post from my 'putter again!

So in an effort to talk more and become better at conversing I'm dusting off the old journal. I helps that I sit at a computer for 8 hours a day selling stuff on e-bay working.

I joined blogspot the otherday and was impressed with it's easy to use interface and friendly navigation systems, so this is your last chance LJ! Screw up and I'm leaving.

My dressCollapse )

Yeah, My dress is called "Ophelia". I dunno....maybe the designer had never heard of Shakespeare....or she was just being really really ironic.

The Bridesmaid DressesCollapse )

Any hints/suggestions for accompanying jewelery and a theme for the table decorations would be great (simple = good). The tables are rectangular and seat 8 - 10 people.

You're packing your bag for that magical desert island that happens to have electricity, a TV, and a DVD player—what five DVDs do you take with you?
1. The Princess Bride.
2. The Sound of Music
3. The Goonies
4. The Constant Gardener
5. The Rocky Horror Picture Show
